By accessing or using FreelanceGuard ("Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
FreelanceGuard provides AI-assisted analysis of contract text to help freelancers and independent contractors identify potentially important provisions, risks, and missing protections. The Service uses large language model technology to generate summaries and commentary.

THE SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE. Specifically:
- FreelanceGuard is not a law firm and does not provide legal services.
- No attorney-client relationship is formed by your use of this Service.
- AI-generated analysis may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inapplicable to your specific situation, jurisdiction, or applicable law.
- You should always consult a licensed attorney before signing any contract, especially those involving significant financial exposure, intellectual property, or non-compete obligations.
- Contract law varies by jurisdiction. Analysis provided may not reflect the law in your location.
4. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- FreelanceGuard, its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Service.
- We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on AI-generated analysis, including but not limited to contract signing, negotiation, or dispute outcomes.
- Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the three months preceding the claim.
- Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of implied warranties or incidental damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
5. Accuracy of AI Analysis
AI-generated contract analysis has inherent limitations:
- The AI may misinterpret ambiguous contract language.
- Analysis does not account for verbal agreements, side letters, or extrinsic evidence.
- The AI may miss provisions that are relevant to your specific situation.
- Analysis quality depends on the completeness and legibility of the contract text you provide.
Always verify AI findings by reviewing the actual contract language yourself and consulting an attorney for significant matters.
6. Your Data and Privacy
When you use FreelanceGuard:
- Contract text you submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Review Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle data.
- We store scan history and your contractor profile associated with your anonymous session token to provide scan history and personalized analysis. Registered users additionally have their email stored.
- We do not sell your contract text or personal information to third parties.
- Do not submit contracts containing third-party personally identifiable information you are not authorized to share.
7. Subscription and Billing
- Pro subscriptions are billed monthly at the rate displayed at the time of purchase.
- You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are available within 7 days of initial purchase if you have not used more than 3 paid scans. Contact us to request a refund.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to registered users.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit contract text containing unlawful content or third-party confidential information you are not authorized to share.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service's API.
- Use the Service for any purpose other than analyzing contracts you are personally involved in.
- Share account credentials or circumvent subscription limits.
9. Intellectual Property
The FreelanceGuard platform, interface, and brand are owned by the Service operators. You retain all rights to the contract text you submit. AI-generated analysis reports may be used by you for your personal business purposes.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
